Grenmaas
During the Grensmaas project data will be collected no the preferences of people between comunal and private measures against floods as well as their change in attitutde based on flood experience. The Gamelab developed two games to do this.
In “The Walls of our Home” players are given a house which they can upgrade and protect by buying individual measures as well as vote on public measures that can help houses against floodings from an overtopping river. The goal of the game is to end up with a house which is as valuable as possible based on public and individual scoring.
A second game, Where we Move, was created where players can choose where to live. Three different areas have different protection from fluvial and pluvial floodings and different cost. Players receive a role card with different incomes and monthly expenses. Players are free to move houses between rounds and buy individual measures. Their goal is to increase their satisfaction score by spending money, buying a nice house and will decrease due to floodings.
