Nzoia We Share it - Kenya game system

For researcher Abby Onencan the gamelab created an online resources tracking system for the game Nzoia We Share It. The game was played by government officials of County Governments of Kenya. The game concerns distribution and trade of local resources and investment in sustainable solutions. Using the web-based system, the players could focus on the decisions instead of dealing with many different tokens and finances, so the game could be played quicker and more efficient. For research purposes, in-between rounds questionnaires were added into the system. A leaderboard was also developed with the aim of encouraging players to collaborate more and also assess how they are progressing in the game. Lastly, a reviewing page was created which provides vital information that is necessary for strategy, negotiation and decision-making. This information is important both during gameplay for the players and for research afterwards.
